Fursuit Care Guide

Proper care will help keep your fursuit clean, soft, and in good condition for a long time. Please brush, clean, dry, and store each part carefully after use.

1. Basic Care

Brush your fursuit before and after wearing it. For long fur, use a slicker brush or pet brush. For short fur, use a firmer bristle brush. Always brush gently in the direction of the fur.

For quick cleaning and disinfecting, mix equal parts water and alcohol in a spray bottle. Lightly spray the inside and outside of the suit, including the head, hands, body, and other parts. You may also use a suitable aerosol disinfectant. After spraying, brush the fur and let the suit dry completely in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.

When storing your fursuit, keep it in a closed, clean space with moderate temperature and humidity. Mini partials and partial suits can be stored in a plastic container, bag, backpack, or suitcase. Full bodysuits, arm sleeves, and long tails should be hung up whenever possible to prevent wrinkles and marks.

2. Washing and Drying

Hand paws, arm sleeves, tails, indoor foot paws, bodysuits, and padding can usually be machine washed. Before washing, close all zippers and buckles. Use a mild liquid detergent. Do not use powder detergent, bleach, hot water, or an iron.

If there are stains or white areas that need extra care, apply a stain remover before washing. If the fur feels rough, a small amount of fabric softener may be used. If you are unsure, test the product on a hidden area first.

Wet fur becomes very heavy, so check your washing machine's weight limit before washing. After washing, brush the fur in the direction of the pile and hang each part to dry.

Drying tips:

• Hang hand paws from the wrist with the fingers facing downward.
• Hang arm sleeves separately with the buckles open.
• Hang tails from the belt loop or strap.
• Foot paws can be hung from the ankle area or placed upright with the toes down.
• Hang bodysuits from the shoulders.
• Gently press padding to remove extra water before hanging it.
• If using clothespins, clip them on the seams to avoid leaving marks in the fur.
• A fan or cool-air hair dryer can help reduce drying time.

Make sure every part is completely dry before storing it. This helps prevent mold and unpleasant odors.

3. Head, Outdoor Feet, and Extra Care Tips

The fursuit head should be cleaned by hand only. Do not fully submerge the head in water. Lightly dampen the outside with water or wipe it with a damp cloth or towel. Add a small amount of liquid detergent, gently work it into the fur, then rinse carefully until no soap remains. Pay extra attention to areas such as the ears and cheeks, as they may hold more water.

After cleaning, brush the head and let it dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.

Outdoor foot paws should be hand washed only. Use the same mild liquid detergent and gently clean them by hand. Brush the soles, rinse well, and allow them to air dry completely.

Sandals can be cleaned with soap and a brush. Scrub both the soles and straps, rinse thoroughly, and dry them away from direct sunlight.

For best comfort and hygiene, wear a functional undersuit and balaclava under your fursuit. Avoid cotton, as it absorbs sweat and does not dry quickly. Breathable sportswear or cooling fabric is recommended.
